My Story

I was 5’9", 340 pounds in high school. I could barely run a tenth of a mile. Going up the stairs for class was a full day's workout.Every summer I would try to lose weight, but I just couldn't stay consistent. For a day I will try 5 pushups and walk 1000 steps. Then the next 7 days I neglect it and go back to gaming and junk food binges.And every so often I'd look at the bathroom scale, expecting something to change.Coping every time my weight went up that "oh well I'm still a growing boy."But deep down I know I'm saying this to make myself feel better.

Then Everything Changed

I graduated high school and entered into college.Marching band was my identity in school, so I figured I would apply for the college's marching band.But on the final day of the bootcamp, I checked the admission list and found my name wasn't on there.I immediately panicked. I was told that I was the best in school. Why would they decline someone like me? I messaged my section leader. She said my marching was "off."And that's when it hit me. My years of neglecting my health had come to this moment where I could just not physically function.Devastated on the campus bench, I finally decided to swallow my pride and change everything.

But It Wasn't Easy...

I decided to finally start weight lifting.For a few months I hit the gym daily and gained some muscle. But I just couldn't lose fat. My diet was just horrible.Macaroni & cheese for dinner and entire pizzas for lunch.I thought "if I'm hitting the gym I need to bulk..."And this continued until one fateful day when I was declined an internship job offer for my BMI being too high.Flabbergasted, I decided to finally unlock the other half and take my nutrition seriously.So I tried everything: keto, calorie counting, intermittent fasting, cardio, cheat meals, you name it.Some worked, some didn't, until I finally found a simple system that I can enjoy everyday and still enjoy restaurants with my friends and family.
